Stone Cold Heart

Caz Frear won the Richard & Judy Search for a Bestseller competition for her debut, Sweet Little Lies. The book introduced us to DC Cat Kinsella, a plucky detective with some dodgy family connections. It’s a book I absolutely loved, so expectations for this sequel were high.

I’m pleased to report that Frear more than meets them. Stone Cold Heart is everything you want in a sequel, and then some. Cat is on a new case, investigating the death of a young woman. Her prime suspect has all the makings of a psychopath - and a wife and daughter who don’t appear to be the most reliable of witnesses.

And to make matters worse, Cat’s own family secrets are coming back to haunt her, putting her career and her relationship with boyfriend Aiden under threat.

Despite all this, Cat is still great company - a narrator you trust and really feel for. Stone Cold Heart is every bit as good as Sweet Little Lies, if not better - gripping, twisty, witty and full of, well, heart. Preorder it now.
