It’s unflinching in its honesty, driven by a strong sense of social justice, filled with three dimensional characters you care about and has enough twists and turns to keep you guessing right up to the final page. There are plenty of thrills here but there’s real heart, too - one that cries out on behalf of the weak and the poor, the marginalised and the dispossessed. I think it’s her best book yet.
